Elaine’s buddy Lane turned 4 while we were in Arizona. Today we took him his gift and treats for a belated celebration. Elaine sang Happy Birthday the whole car ride. When she was actually singing for Lane, she started out very strong and got a little embarassed. They both enjoyed opening his gift and I was thankful Lane was so willing to let Elaine help!

As a bonus, Elaine got to hold “Baby Owen” again and Jerry actually met him for the first time.

For spring break, we headed to Pinetop, Arizona for 5 days. We left last Friday and stayed in Albuquerque and got to Pinetop on Saturday. Elaine did a great job in the car. Thank goodness for portable DVD players and princess movies!! We played lots of games and went on lots of walks. Elaine loved our “new house” and spending extra time with Grammy and Bob.
In the car, Elaine did some of this…

and lots of this…

Elaine played games (Memory was a new favorite!),

read lots of stories with Grammy,

played on a new playground on the Apache Indian Reservation,

and did some painting.

She was very proud!

In the clubhouse, there was great fish tank we checked on each day,

we played “ping pom.”

Elaine helped Bob rack pool balls and

and then served as referee.
TO BE CONTINUED…

This week has gotten away from me (it is report card week) and there have been things to post! Since I have last posted, Elaine got to spend some time with her “Uncle” Eddie.

Uncle Eddie and Elaine before the CC hockey game
She also got to hold our new sweet friend Owen. I’m not so sure how much Owen liked it, but Elaine LOVED being able to hold him. She talked about it for days and we all appreciate Owen being so cooperative! I was also proud of Elaine for trying her hardest to be caring, doting and accomodating. I’m not sure Owen would agree, however!

I caught up on Elaine’s projects from preschool, as well.

The shirt says, “It’s all about me!” MMMM–could it be so???

Losing interest in showing off her work. Again, can you see how well I’m doing with the thumb sucking thing??

On March 5th, my good friend Jami gave birth to a beautiful, healthy new boy named Owen. Elaine and I have had several talks about being most careful with him and I hope when they actually meet, she will be able to contain her excitement. Because Elaine has had the horrible stomach bug this week, we’re putting off the introduction as to not share very unwanted germs.
We most certainly look forward to many happy times together!! Happy Birthday sweet Owen!!

This past weekend was the annual Air Force basketball reunion. We have so much fun seeing former players and their families and enjoy catching up. It also always marks the coming end of the basketball season.
I also had several of my students at the game who were auction winners earlier in the year. I love seeing my students outside the classroom and had a great time watching them enjoy their first ever AF game.

My students: Mason, Bailey, Amy, Ben, Kade and Lane
