I have a lifelong friend who does an amazing blog. I’ve envied her ability to express herself. I am awed by her creativity. Most of all, I’ve realized the gift she gives of herself with each post where her friends and family have insight into her life. Upon her encouragement, I’m taking the plunge. Here goes my first official post…
I love my job and have for years known that I wanted to teach. Understanding that, you must know that I love my own child MORE than I could ever love teaching. Consequently, I find myself constantly trying to find the delicate balance of separation between life as a teacher and life as a mom.
Today all the stars aligned and it came together. PERFECTION!! I got home to a huge smile, big hugs and kisses and a generally very happy child. Upon my arrival, Elaine wrapped her little arms around my legs. She “allowed” me to pick her up and snuggle, tickle, kiss and hug her. She willingly returned all the sentiments. Instantly stress from my school day fade into oblivion. I go to bed tonight hoping and praying for similar sentiments tomorrow, knowing full well that it may or may not happen. I go to bed feeling lucky that it did today!
